The role of a buddy is to support our participants to thrive on every program. All volunteer buddies undergo extensive preparation and training to develop the tools needed to support our participants. We also ensure our volunteers are supported to grow, develop personally & professionally and up-skill throughout their journey with Flying Fox.

Program Allocation
Next, we’ll allocate you to a suitable program. We have different program offerings; our camps and our getaways.
Camps feature a 2:1 buddy-to-participant ratio, while weekend getaways have a smaller group with ample support.

We have four training intakes each year. Once assigned a program, you’ll join the next intake for training specific to that program.

Time for Camp 🎉
You will be well-prepared to support your participant and enjoy a fantastic experience with great people! Each camp offers unique fun activities like rollerblading, swimming, dancing, arts & crafts, and making new friends. We look forward to sharing the magic of Flying Fox with you!

Get your friends to send in an EOI as well. If it lines up, we’ll be sure to pop you on the same program so you can embark on the Flying Fox journey together!
We get it, it can be very daunting – at first.
However, we provide you with extensive training, we’ll teach you about your participant and you may even be able to meet before the program! Everyone leaves training with the right skills and knowledge to ensure participants are safe, health & happy.
We work with a number of schools where students can get involved and volunteer on camps.

There is no cost for our volunteers. All accommodation and meals will be provided on our camps and getaways!
